Epiphany- A sudden or striking realization.

As we move through the season of Epiphany we will come to realize much about our Lord as he begins his ministry on earth before his Transfiguration.

We encourage you to join us in worship.  We worship at 9:00am and at 10:30am.  The 10:30 service is live-streamed. Both services are broadcast to the parking lot.  Communion alternates between the services and we do bring it to those worshiping outside. Currently we are alternating worship music Traditional hymns with organ and praise team contemporary music every other Sunday. The liturgy is the same.

An Epiphany of a different sort.

As things in society have careened from one crisis to another is may be helpful to remember the words from the

Augsburg Confession Article XVI Of Civil Affairs:  (They=Lutheran Pastors)

Of Civil Affairs they(the Lutherans) teach that lawful civil ordinances are good works of God, and that it is right for Christians to bear civil office, to sit as judges, to judge matters by the Imperial and other existing laws, to award just punishments, to engage in just wars, to serve as soldiers, to make legal contracts, to hold property, to make oath when required by the magistrates, to marry a wife, to be given in marriage.

They condemn the Anabaptists* who forbid these civil offices to Christians.

They condemn also those who do not place evangelical perfection in the fear of God and in faith, but in forsaking civil offices, for the Gospel teaches an eternal righteousness of the heart. Meanwhile, it does not destroy the State or the family, but very much requires that they be preserved as ordinances of God, and that charity be practiced in such ordinances. Therefore, Christians are necessarily bound to obey their own magistrates and laws save only when commanded to sin; for then they ought to obey God rather than men. (Acts 7:49)

*Anabaptists are Christians who believe in delaying baptism until the candidate confesses his or her faith in Christ, as opposed to being baptized as an infant.

 Memory Verse of the Week

Colossians 2:8-9

"See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily."

God's richest blessings to you on your Journey of Faith!

We realize the Covid crisis has created many economic hardships, as well as opportunities.  Our Lord invites us to offer back to Him a portion of what He has given so the work of the Gospel might continue and grow.  The bills still need to be paid, but we give as we are blessed, in thanksgiving and grateful praise.  If you can't give, God bless you, and if you have needs let us know how we may help.
