THE LOGOS
SYSTEM
weekly theme/food menu
Underlying the weekly
LOGOS ministry with youth and children is a theologically grounded, congregation
wide system of ministry. It is like the 90 percent of an iceberg underneath the
water, out of sight, but supporting the visible 10 percent, which represents the
weekly Program meeting. The LOGOS System...
Strives to build,
deepen, and strengthen in young people a personal faith relationship with Jesus
Christ as Lord of all of life.
Facilitates the growth
of inter-generational relationships that bond the entire congregation into a
growing community of faith.
Creates an arena where
serving and caring for others is intentionally taught and practiced!
Is theologically
grounded.
Lifts ministry with
youth and children to a high priority, giving focus and
direction to all the
education and nurture programs of the church.
Brings renewal and
strength to the total ministry of the church.
Involves pastors,
parents, singles, couples, grandparents - the whole congregation, forming a
broad base of leadership.
Uses the Biblical
process of calling persons to ministry, according to their gifts, to staff the
program.
THE
LOGOS PROGRAM
The Logos Program is
the theology and practice of Christian relationships, in a disciplined,
mid-week, four part context.
The weekly LOGOS
Program is focused on building Christian relationships in a four part retreat
experience every week, following the experience of the early church: "They
devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to
the breaking of bread and
the prayers" (Acts 2:42). Everything we do is designed to strengthen Christian
relationships. LOGOS Associates believe a saving relationship with God through
Jesus Christ is more important than anything else in life.
 |
BIBLE STUDY in graded classes provides time
for relationships to be informed, refined, renewed. What is learned in Bible
study, the heart of the Program, is practiced in the other three parts. |
 |
FAMILY TIME is a meal, conversation, special
events. It provides time to celebrate relationships as a family around the
table. |
 |
PLAY TIME is time to build relationships as
we enjoy times of fun and share interests, such as games, hobbies, crafts, and
drama, with many
adults in the congregation. |
 |
WORSHIP SKILLS , which might include choir,
hand bells, drama, or something else that young people can do to lead the
people of God in worship, is time for relationships to be rooted and nourished
in worship. |
